Corners of my Home

Thank you for the comments on my last post...it's so nice to have someone to share these things with! Thank you Elizabeth, Mrs Scott, and Mrs Staggs for pointing me in the right direction to find a tube turning tool...the next time I get to Joann's I will be sure to check it out.
Today's corner is in the master bath. It's kind of hard to tell because of the lighting, but it's painted Deep Linen G22, one of Martha's Everyday Colors. Most everything else is white except the vintage mirror frame, which I think I am going to paint white. To the right of the sink are some tag sale finds used to hold soap...

I found this little wall cabinet at a flea market in Ohio...it even had the cute little glass knob...

the little bowl on top holds soap...a star fish from Florida...

...this old ironstone pitcher holds toothbrushes and toothpaste...

...and this old commode is handy for hiding unmentionables...

As I went to start this post I noticed it is my 100th post, aaaand as I'm always looking for a good excuse for a give-away, I can't let the opportunity pass by. Anyone who leaves a comment to this post will automatically be entered in a drawing for a little zippered pouch, similar to the one I sent Clarice, here. This pouch is yet unmade so I'm not sure what the fabric will be ~ a pleasant surprise I hope!

And I love the little commode. My mother has a large antique pitcher and bowl set that are very similar, and I've always loved them.

I love the bathroom - so fresh and light. I like all of your neat finds that you've used throughout. I also keep a little covered commode pot (mine is enamelware). I'm joining the chant to keep the mirror gold, though! I've really been enjoying your blog.

Happy 100th post Debbie! I really like your bathroom which reminds me a little of my own -- mine has very pale yellow walls and everything else is whites. I really like your gold mirror. It adds a "touch of class" and interest to the bath.

  15. I truly enjoyed the pictures of your master bathroom. Especially the ingenius way the counter/vanity was fit. That way you had more useable space, plus a space for your wastebasket. Very creative! Thanks for sharing.

Your bathroom is charming. I love all the little special touches you've added. As soon as I saw the picture I thought the gold edged mirror looked so perfect there. And then I read that you were thinking of painting it white. So, let me add my vote for keeping it gold ;)

  21. So many charming touches Debbie. I really enjoyed seeing them.
Your bathroom is very pretty. Love that little wall cabinet and the bowl. I use a couple of pieces of old dishes in my bathroom. Actually I use old china and things all over the house! We like so many of the same things. Have you seen the latest issue (Sept)of Country Living (USA)? Lot's of really pretty rooms and ideas in this issue.

100 posts...That's amazing. I started a blog and deleted it as I am too lazy to keep up with it and I am too busy reading other great blogs like yours to deal with one of my own. I love that little shelf that you found in Ohio (which is where I am) and I am totally jealous. Enjoy vacation.
