Work in Progress Friday

You've probably seen pictures of similar purses...I've been wanting to make one since I saw a picture posted from a Japanese craft book~I think it was Machine Made Patchwork. Then one day I stumbled across Creative Little Daisy, where Autum has posted a great tutorial on how to make these bags.

This is what I have so far...I've got it all quilted and the lining is all ready, just waiting to sew everything together. I used some Amy Butler fabrics and some vintage. I haven't decided yet what to do for the handles. This is another great way of using up what I thought were useless scraps.

I also got this ready and mailed out to a very special giveaway winner...

I'm off now to pick some tomatoes and get them canned.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Debbie,
I tried to leave a comment on your post yesterday, but for some reason Blogger wasn't letting me leave posts anywhere.
Your bathroom is lovely. Love the wainscoat and the little cabinet. When we redo our bathroom, we have plans for wainscoat too. The tole things are so pretty, and I love the way the sconces turned out.
What a gorgeous combination of fabrics on your new purse. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. Will it be in your shop? I think I would have a hard time letting this one go.
I'm looking forward to my bag too!
Your kindness really has brightened up my week. Everytime I think about it, a smile pops on my face! Thank you again.

I really like the fabrics in your new bag. Thank you for linking to the tutorial. My daughter and I have been saving a lot of these tutorials and are very grateful for the instruction!

  4. Pretty colours for the bag , I like the shape of it as well. When I was a teenager my school uniform was light blue and brown and it has taken me many years to be able to use that combination of colours for anything else. I liked school but wearing the same colours day after day for four years does rather spoil it for you.
