waiting~somewhat patiently~for spring

Just when that 2 feet of snow was almost all melted, we woke up to some more of the fluffy, white stuff.

I am trying to focus instead on the signs of spring that have appeared during the past week ~ the return of the robins, flocks of Canadian geese passing overhead, waking to the sounds of the birds singing, and the need from time to time to actually put on my sunglasses!

And the cold weather is leaving me with more time to spend inside sewing. I have some great Japanese fabrics from Superbuzzy with which to make some new totes...

I'm hoping to get a bunch of these made for the Firefly Farm shop, then it's on to sewing some clothespin bags in hopes that the warmer weather can't be too far away.

Have a happy weekend!

  1. Just wanted to leave a note to tell you how much I enjoy stopping by here several times each week. I always feel inspired.

One of my favorite things you do is to pull out treasures and find new uses for them. I love our town's big trash pick up day each spring and my most favorite treasures are also someone else's discarded items. Delicious homemade goodies, delightful old dishes, special books....I could live in your house, too!

Just wanted to tell you thank you.

Ugh, I know what you mean about the snow-- we live in a similar, chilly climate, and some days it feels like winter will never end! But it will. Your bags are beautiful and as colorful as the spring blossoms we're sure to see soon!

  9. We have about the same amount of snow Deb. Raining today though and the forecast predicts rain for the next few days, so most of the snow should be gone by then :-} Your tote bags are wonderful - love the fabric.

I can't believe you are still getting snow! It's so over for us here in Georgia. Winter is so short. I do miss the down time though. I felt like I hardly had a break and already have to get moving before it gets too hot do anything in the garden!

  12. The bags are great! You work fast. Hang in there, Spring is coming. We have flowers here, but then earlier this week we had some snow and frost. Amazing for western Oregon at this time of year.

  13. Lovely bags you've whipped up. Our weather today has been snow, rain and now sun. Typical MN spring weather. It's what our weather guy calls a real mixed bag. I know spring is coming, but my patience is running low, LOL.

  14. LOVE those bags! I also think your snow pictures are beautiful, but as you know, it is because I rarely see snow.

Hang in there. Spring can't be far away. It continues to tease us down here, too.
