"a comfy wool vest" from Knitty

Tis the season for knitting...

Needles::US#10/6mm straight
Modifications::made a v-neck

This vest was quick to knit and not complicated--I'm so glad that I am no longer afraid of patterns with cables! It's warm and comfy, and I would definitely make it again. Next time, I think I would try using a circular needle up to the armholes.

  2. You do such lovely work, Deb. As for me, my knitting skills don't stretch beyond my one pair of felted mittens, many scarves, and loads of dishrags! Which is enough for me. (except I have seen some pretty sweet sock patterns....!)

  11. So glad to see you back! I hurt my back a little more than two months ago and while lying flat trying not to do anything to aggreviate the spasms I discovered your blog. You have helped me through many long and painful days! Your vest is beautiful. I have never knit anything with cables, but hope to change that soon. Thanks, Robin T.

    Pretty pattern, Deb. I think I should tell you that I've been knitting your waffle weave dishcloth pattern a lot this season. AND have passed it on to a couple of new knitters. What a legacy for you:)

    Wow, you do gorgeous work! I aspire to be able to knit like that. So far, I've been making your waffle knit dishcloths and am now working on my first little baby sweater. Thanks for the inspiration!

  20. It looks beautiful. I've been knitting a plain v-neck sweater for my daughter. I wonder if I could convince her to have a cable down the front like yours. It adds so much to it.
