New Year...new project

Years ago my daughter made bracelets for Christmas gifts. We ordered a bunch of beads, and even after the bracelets, this is what was left. I've been wanting to learn how to make simple earrings, and so it seemed a good excuse to use up at least some of them.

I headed to the library for a book {the Easy Beading book over on my right-hand sidebar}, picked up some sterling silver ear wires and headpins from the craft store with my 40% coupon, and borrowed my sister's jewelry pliers and cutters.

In a short while I had four pair of earrings! Now, don't look too closely or you will see my wraps and loops are not exactly perfect, but I'm hoping no one will notice...
Very fun, and easy! I think I'll try some in gold next...

  5. Those are beautiful! I pretty much only wear earrings with wires like that. I made one pair of earrings that I love, but haven't made any since. Yours are simply lovely.

  10. Nice job on the earrings. I experienced a tiny pang of regret when I looked at your first picture as I just lost one of my favorite earrings and the light green beads toward the left top corner look like the same beads that made up the bottom. Enjoy your pretty new baubles!

  11. I masde bracelets one year for Christmas gifts, and found my left over beads just the other day, when I was cleaning and organizing in my craft room. I was wondering what I will use them for.

I think it's great that you tried something new, and your earrings turned out wonderfully well!
