Spring sewing

I finished the top started here--it's Simplicity 4589. I wanted it a little longer and so lengthened the pattern some...also had a bit of trouble lining up the notches around the neck, but I did some fudging and it seems to have worked out o.k.

Next up, a couple Spring skirts, and I'm hoping to have them finished by Easter ~ can you believe Easter is only 10 days away?

  2. I can't imagine getting two skirts done by Easter with only 10 days to go.You are a wonder.I was fortunate enough to find a pair of springy pants in a fabric very similar to your top.(No branches in my print)It has a short sleeve jacket with 3 large buttons. This will have to do as my new spring outfit.Maybe when I'm no longer working I'll be able to tackle the sewing machine with more detailed projects. You keep me inspired.

  29. Turned out very nice! I have a pattern very similar to that one that was a Simplicity pattern also. It was on the short side as well. I wounder why they do that?! I may get the one you have and give it a try, I like how yours came out.

  37. Hi Deb,

I discovered your blog through my sister Bev at GRITS. I bought the pattern and made this blouse and it came out really cute, but boy, it was something else to figure out the neck band. Yours is adorable too - it's a very sweet summer blouse.
