thank you

Thank you so much for your consoling comments on my last post! They have lifted my spirits much more than the knitting or baking could ever do.
And, I have been doing a lot of both of those...
For Valentine's Day I made my husband's favorite:: a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake--very rich, very fattening, and very good.
{I will be increasing my time on the treadmill this week :) }
Yesterday, I made a batch of French Breakfast Puffs from
The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl
They are delicious, and just as good the second day--I had one this morning with my tea...

...and I popped the rest in the freezer to enjoy another day.

  1. I remember making those in Home Ec way back in the ...eeek...60's. We had a poster that said "tunnels are for trains, not for muffins" on the wall in the classroom to remind us to just incorporate the wet and dry ingredients. Funny the things that stick with us for well over 40 years ;)

    Think I will make some tomorrow to help with the winter blues. Thanks for the reminder.

  4. Those puff-things look delicious!! I received the Pioneer Woman's cookbook for Christmas, but found out I was pregnant and morning sickness ensued, so I was afraid to look at it. :) I'll have to try them!!
    Love that zippered pouch you made that you shared a few posts ago. Also the idea of painting the thread holder is genius.

  8. WOW! I was just looking at your post, "In the kitchen" and saw that you have the phone that I've been debating about buying and THEN I noticed that you have my clock too! I love that clock! I'm about to paint my only primed kitchen a beautiful silver/blue/gray and have been excited about how everything will look against - i.e. the clock.

    Beautiful Blog! Katy Noelle
