my first baby sweater

awhile back for friend's baby.
The baby shower was fast approaching
so I took it along with me to the lake
to finish up...

I took the finished pictures moments before wrapping it up
and heading out the door to the shower.
The yarn is Nature's Choice organic cotton
in almond and is very soft.
There are some errors in the pattern
so I followed thejill's corrections...
more details on my ravelry page here.

  8. Oh Deb! I just love your blog. It is so simple and beautiful and I mean that in the most wonderful way. Today when I read your post about the baby sweater, I especially loved it! Almost 28 years ago (on August 25 to be exact), I had a little baby boy, Matt. A couple of days after he was born, an older neighbor lady brought over a beautiful little blue baby sweater. I loved that sweater and Matt wore it all the time, and my other kids, too. I tried to find a pattern like it, but never have until today. It is the same one that you made. I am so excited I can't stand it. I have wanted to make this same sweater for numerous babies, as I so enjoyed it, and now I can. It was my best baby gift ever. I still have it. That and three made ahead dinners from another neighbor. Such sweet homemade gifts and they were the absolute best! Thank you, Deb. I so enjoy your writing. Mona

  13. So lovely! What a happy new mother she'll be! It reminds me of one made by my Grandmother for our first born and passed down, now hanging on display in my craft room. Thanks for all the beauty you share here!

  19. Very sweet. The yarn looks so soft. I loved making knitted pieces for my kids and nieces and nephews. I couldn't part with them after they were outgrown and still have them.
