my very best friend in the world

Yesterday was one-of-those days...I overslept when I should have been up packing lunches and getting breakfast,
...I charred the cinnamon toast at tea time...burnt, black,
...I couldn't get my new sewing awl to work right,
...I ruined an all-leather tote, which I was about to put in my shop, when I spilled a drop of dye on it...a little stain that can't be undone,
...I also spilled drops of brown dye across the wall-to-wall carpet and the dog, totally permanent on the carpet; I'm sure it will eventually wear off of Fluffy's coat...

I was feeling a bit devastated...then my Honey {who was up super early, fixing those lunches and breakfast, unloading the dishwasher, bringing me a cup of tea in bed}
came home bearing gifts,
a bag of chocolates and flowers {an oxalis} and a hug,
and all was good again in the world.
And, he figured out that sewing awl--I had the wrong needle in--and it now works great.

  2. Oh my, is he ever sweet!!! Such a treasure! I am lucky to have my treasure as well. He makes my heart skip a beat! :)

May I suggest you still sell the bag you were making but maybe at a lower price for those who would love it still *ink spot and all* and can only afford it at a cheaper price!? :)

Have a lovely rest of the week!
    Warmly,
    Katy

  5. Dear, dear hubby!! I am glad to hear that quote that good deeds live long - I need it to battle the one sometimes quoted to me that they 'don't pay'. In fact, I think I shall stitch it.

  6. I don,t know where the spot is, but perhaps you could make one or more leather flowers and sew over the spot, sew on a strip for a band,or make a pocket.

  11. There is something about this story that truly gives that bag it's uniqueness.

Nothing is ever meant to be perfect - however it is still meant to be loved.

Maybe you will use/keep the bag for yourself - to remind you of this day?? And the blessing that ultimately came out of it. I know I would do this..

You have a treasure there with your hubby. Very sweet.
