rainy day knitting

Our clothesline-drying weather ended and the rain returned...over 4 inches these first two weeks of June...more than we usually
expect for the whole month.  The rest of the garden has not been planted due to standing water...thank goodness for the raised beds, and even those are soggy.  I've picked two quarts of strawberries so far, but many of them are rotting before they ripen.
On the good side, I've had time to do some knitting for a batch of drawstring pouches for the shop, and yesterday I finished sewing one curtain panel for the bedroom...just three more to go.  With enough rainy days, I might even get the rush seat finished on my poor neglected rocking chair.

  1. Sounds like a lovely way to spend a rainy day. We've had a lot of rain too.

  2. It seems a lot of the US has had quite a bit of rain, we've had a chilly dry start to winter after a log Indian summer.

Rainy here as well! We even have a fire in the woodstove today. I am glad you enjoyed some strawberries already. I am really hoping our rhubarb grows well - but I did purchase some at the market just in case! :)

  4. It seems like every time the weekend rolls around we get rain.

Those poor strawberries. I hope that the weather gets better and you end up getting a great crop.

    God bless.

  5. Sounds like the simmer we had I'm the Uk last year. It has been dry but a bit chilly for June so far and still waiting for my first strawberry!

  6. It's much the same here in the uk. Raining again after some rather lovely weather last week. Loving your bags, they are gorgeous!! Still waiting on some strawberries here. Enjoy the curtain making. It's such a mammoth job xo

  7. Sometimes those rainy days (but not too many!) are great for catching up on all the inside stuff. Hope you get some sunshine for the strawberries! Looking forward to the drawstring pouches as they seem to disappear quickly!

    Have a great weekend, Deb!

Wish we had some of your rain in the west! So very dry here. I love the color of the yarn you are knitting with. Fun blog, thank you for sharing. You are in my blog feed and one of my favorites.
