buttons....

What better way to finish off a hand knit or hand sewn creation than with  unique and lovely hand crafted buttons.  The Lady Marple sweater is on my list to knit, and in my usual oh-so-impatient-fashion, I was looking for some buttons even before having found the perfect gray yarn to use.

As you can see, I found the buttons--Acorn Branch buttons in chocolate brown from Fastenation Studio.  The owner, Hannah, was such a pleasure to deal with ~ she was exceedingly patient and helpful, going out of her way to see that I was happy with my purchase.  Hannah has a large selection of buttons--you must see for yourself, as I do believe she has something for everyone, and if you don't see what you need, she is happy to work with you to come up with a design.

Today, I am happy to feature an interview with this exceptional entrepreneur:

·         Please tell us about your craft/products.

Hello, I'm Hannah of Fastenation Studio!  I've always enjoyed different artistic pursuits and
have put these together to make beautiful clay creations.  I'm a young business owner who
enjoys working hard to provide customers with quality products and service.

In my Studio I design and make polymer clay buttons, one of a kind shawl pins and also have just started making Christmas ornaments for the season!!!

I make all different buttons, varied shapes, sizes, designs, and colors. Most of my buttons (at least the girly ones) match an unique hair accessory as well.

·         How did you get started?  And how long have you been in business?

My business was developed by my Mother's and my love for knitting and the need to finish our projects with the perfect buttons. I wanted to be able to provide others with the same opportunity and so have offered my work to finish your work. My shop is online only www.fastenationstudio.com right now, but soon will be featured in local shops in Southwest Virginia as well. I just started my business about a year ago & have learned many things along the way. I hope that as my business grows I will be known for my honesty, and quality of work and service!

·         How do come up with your button designs?

My button designs are either thought of by me, by friends, family, etc., are the wants of a customer via custom orders, or are made to match a particular fabric, sweater, etc.
I also love to look at clip art for ideas, especially for animals etc.
There are so many design ideas in my head, I don't think I'll ever run out.

·         What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love being able to communicate with my customers, love providing them with exactly what they want, and I also greatly enjoy making my products!
I hope that you as my customers would see the time and investment that goes into each and every order.
Thank you so much for your business!

Thank you Hannah!  And thank-you readers for your visit today.......Deb
