I never thought of using a "heavy" thread instead of worsted weight cotton, but it's a terrific idea -- I find especially with crochet -- that the dish cloth is almost too heavy and doesn't dry at all well (what I'm saying is it gets stinky all too quickly -- especially in the elevated humidity of the spring and summer months). I have to try it -- I'm off to get #3 weight thread.
