today's 'corner of my home'

February is a tough month for me as far as weather goes ~ it's been very gray and bleak here, and we are all beginning to crave more sunshine ~ our area is very low on the list as far as percentage of sunshine across the nation. I'm not sure if our local groundhog saw his shadow today, but either way we always have at least 6 more weeks of winter weather.
So, at the grocery store I picked up some roses. I put them in a favorite old pitcher, whose color and crackly worn surface I really love, pulled out this floral runner, and decorated the kitchen table.
Hopefully this will help tide us over.
Happy Groundhog Day!

  1. Just bee-yootiful!!! The groundhog did not see his shadow here today! That is supposed to mean an early spring! But I won't hold my breath!!

  3. Happy Groundhog's Day, Deb! I love the beautiful roses in the pitcher. They look so pretty on the runner along with the candlesticks and beeswax candles.

Ground hog or no, the roses are definitely a touch of spring time in a cheerful setting.

  10. Well, you knew that I was going to love these photos with that beautiful green pitcher! White roses are one of my favorite flowers. My favorite bouquet from my husband was a bouquet of little white roses. They were so pretty.
I know how hard the winter light can be for some people. I have suffered from SAD in the past and have to make a real effort to get out every day and take in some light. I have a full spectrum light that I use as well. It really helps.
