summer wardrobe sewing

Some summer wardrobe sewing...Built by Wendy (Simplicity) 3835 in a super soft cotton with a tiny honeycomb pattern. I wanted some nice, light, everyday-sort of tops, and this pattern is just that. I have two more in the works and am changing up the sleeves a bit for some variety. I found all my fabrics on the clearance shelf for $2 - $4 a yard, and with the pattern picked up during JoAnn's $1.99 sale, these tops aren't costing much!
This afternoon I'll be sewing ~ hope your day is a good one :)

  1. Cute top! Great job! The only sewing I ever do is piecing quilts together. Maybe I should try this pattern out. I would love some new, cheap, clothes!

  5. Don't you just love that top!! I have made 2 and my daughter has made one herself.. We actually didn't put the elastic in the sleeves as we felt they fit great without. We added a bit of length as we like our tops longer so if you raise your arm it doesn't come up much. I love how you can change it up and have so many different looks! I am off to sew as well, and possibly do a bit of weaving and knitting if I can squeeze it in today.

  13. I've seen several people doing these tops recently - but they're all skinny minnies like you! I wonder how it would look on someone like me? They look cute!
