Autumn knitting

Through the summer there has consistently been something cast on to my knitting needles ~ usually this {corrected link 4/09} petal dishcloth pattern {which has become a favorite} by Hazel Schrock, using some cream-colored, soft, Lion cotton yarn...

My favorite time to fit in a few rows of knitting ~ morning tea time, with a pot of PG Tips and something delicious to nibble {like Rhonda's cranberry & walnut biscuits}.
I'm also trying very hard to finish this teapot cozy started long ago...

And with the arrival of Fall, I couldn't resist casting on two of these great-looking Bainbridge neck warmers that Elizabeth mentioned ...

And of course, there is also a another denim-colored wool mug cozy in progress...

I promise that the last mug cozy giveaway will be announced before the end of this week...see you then!

  4. Of all the handwork I do, knitting is by far my favorite thing. Something about it just soothes me (except when I drop a stitch or find a mistake 3/4 of the way down the project!).
Right now I'm working on socks. Great fun! I love the way the stripes just happen all by themselves.

  17. I really like your tea cosy in progress, and would like to make one. I have looked all over your archives and cannot find the pattern. Even googled 'corrugated tea cosy' and nothing like yours came up.
Do you have the pattern available, or a link to it, or even the name of the book from whence it came?

    I would appreciate your help.

  19. Thank you for such great comments!
And thank you for asking about my Dad and for your continued prayers--he is feeling better, and has started radiation treatments this week.
Angela~I would suggest checking your library for a knitting handbook or there are articles and tutorial here: [http://knitting.about.com/od/learntoknit/a/begin_knit.htm] that are also helpful.
bunches of yarn~the tea cosy pattern can be found here: [http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60188A.html]

  24. I did a petal dishcloth, and ended up with a very pretty hole in the middle. I used 7's not 8's, and did 13 petals, not 12 (I could tell 12 would have ended up mounded). Any idea's how to get it together without the hole? I do like it, and am using it but any thoughts would be great!
