And, on the subject of recipes I just tried a great one for a moisturizing body scrub. My daughter and I both loved it, and now I need to make a new batch.
1 cup sea salt
1/4 cup Epsom salts
1/3 cup light olive oil
8 drops lime essential oil
Combine all ingredients. Scrub moist skin and rinse.
{The lime smells good and refreshing, but you could substitute whatever essential oil you prefer.}
Thanks for sharing these recipes! I can't wait to try them both! I'm all for getting as green as I can afford to get!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, it is much appreciated.

ReplyDeleteI love these all natural recipes Deb. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the location of the recipe for the lemon oil.
ReplyDeleteHi there! This is my first time visiting you, what a cute blog! I was looking thru and that clothesline trellis with the morning glories is AWESOME!!! Did you start those from seeds? That looks like a fun spring project:)
ReplyDeleteThey both sound wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteThis may be a funny question....what do you store the body scrub in to keep the moisture out while showering?
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question, I use the little bowl pictured. At showertime, I just place it on a little shelf in the shower where it does not get wet, and then I remove it from the shower when done.

I can't wait to try the scrub. The ones you purchase in the store can be so expensive, and then they don't even have a very nice smell!!
ReplyDeleteI'll also try the polish. Thanks for the receipes.
Thanks for sharing Deb. I love using salt scrubs and the lime sounds wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteHow long will the scrub keep? Im asking b/c my mom would love something like that. Oh, and can the salts damage the shower or anything? I would love to try this!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I tried the lemon oil this weekend and it made my furniture look luminous! I will never use store-bought chemicals again...
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I just love your blog, the colors and everything....thanks. The lime body scrub sounds so good. I just bought yesterday some lime hand soap and had a sonic limeade, oh limes are so refreshing ..... I'm a candle maker, and made some lime tarts that are so yummy too. Thanks for the recipe for the body scrub, I'll try it soon.

ReplyDeleteI'm slightly in love with labels and the machines that make them...
Anna--I made the label with my P-Touch label maker, which hooks into my computer. ~Deb
ReplyDeleteI like that scrub for my hands-- especially lately when there's lots of outdoor chores and still cold weather.
