Remember that tea cozy I was working on awhile ago?
Well, I set it aside because I couldn't decide what exactly to do with it as far as embellishing it in some sort of way.
Then one day, I happened across an inexpensive set of paper letter stencils in the Walmart craft section and got an idea...
It just took a stencil brush and some black craft paint...
...and my cozy was complete.
Then I moved on to this little metal stool, found at an estate sale this summer for a few dollars. I had given it a coat of paint, but decided it needed a little something more...
I'm trying to figure out what I can stencil next!
I know....You can come to my house and stencil (since you were wondering). I once stenciled a border around my master bedroom -- a vine-like creation with little berries. It took me 2 years to finish. I like short and sweet projects much more.

ReplyDeleteNo real significance to the numbers ~ I think I saw a similar chair stenciling idea in a magazine and liked it. I just picked 4 because I like the number 4 :) ~Deb

ReplyDeleteI love what you've done and I went through a stenciling phase at our house. I would do a whole room (ceiling borders, chair rail height etc.) on a Saturday afternoon, even with details... guess I get that from being a "painter's daughter". :o)

Both of these projects look great!! When you make the tea cozies do you use one standard size or custom fit it to a particular pot? Again, your sewing is always so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the stencil projects where they stencil red or black stripes on burlap or homespun? It turns out like the vintage french grain sacks. Really cute and fun.

Love both projects! My parents had a stool exactly like that when I was growing up. Last time I saw it, it was out in the garage pretty well rusted away. :( Yours looks amazing!
