another lamp story

One of my favorite treasures from this
summer's yard sale season,
was found tucked, unmarked, in a box of stuff
underneath a table ~ the price?...Free!

It's very heavy {cast iron?} and painted
white.  I love the aged patina, so just cleaned
it up and left it
as is.
I searched some stores for the right size
shade, but only came up with ones
either too small or too large.
Finally, at another yard sale, I found
this somewhat dingy paper shade for $1.50...

With a remnant of fabric and some spray glue,
I recovered it...

... and gave it a new home in
the dining room.
Hope your Labor Day weekend was a good one,
and thanks, so much, for your nice comments on the tunic!

  8. Free, the best kind of treasure! It looks fabulous!

How do you tuck under the fabric so that it doesn't gap and show overlapping?

    Thanks!
