My patchwork Christmas table runner is finally,
finally done. It was four years ago that I
picked up a couple Christmasy fabrics with the
idea of making one. Every year I would forget about
it until December, and by then I would be too busy
to make any progress on it.
This year I was determined to finish it...no matter what.

Do you have any projects in limbo?
I have a knitted wrap that I started after Christmas two years ago. The plan was to wear it to the next year's "office" Christmas party. Well, that party is on Thursday night. While I've done a lot on it this year, it's still far from being finished. Maybe next year.

I love the tablecloth.....the square with the Dec calendar on it is so original adds such a special touch......
ReplyDeleteOh, I have many unfinished projects....knitting, weaving, sewing...do I need to add more? hahahha
Maybe we will get alot of snow and I can sit by the fire and work on them.....
What a wonderful runner! Looks like you used some old dish towels? Great idea, and what a great kitchen too. Looks big and roomy.
ReplyDeleteI have several unfinished quilts one about as old if not older than your runnera was started in my teaching myself to quilt years ago before I figured out that you need to buy all your fabric at once or it won't be there when you go back. Others are just waiting for room to lay out the backing and batting.

ReplyDeleteMore than I care to admit to! First and foremost is my goddaughter's quilt (she's six months old), my grandson's blanket, four scrapbooks... and so much more. I love your table runner, so festive and pretty... it was definitely worth the wait, right?

Do I have projects in limbo? I can not begin to count them. I am binding a quilt that I started a good six or seven years ago. I finally decided to send my quilts out to be quilted, because I am so far behind. I am so glad that I made that decision.

ReplyDeleteYES!! I started a patchwork crib quilt for my first daughter when I was pregnant with her. I finally finished the top 2 years ago, but still haven't got the batting or the back fabric and quilted the thing together and she just turned 5 last month!

ReplyDeleteYes, I have projects still waiting to be completed. In fact I completed one that I had for a year and just recently completed and posted on my blog. I have more that I'm getting to, however slowly.

Pretty runner! Yes, a few years back I started piecing some Jacob's Ladder quilt blocks by hand. (Just a dozen for a small quilt.) It was being tedious to me for some reason, and I finally put them away and they sat for a long time. Well, I finally got my machine going recently, and have delved back into a lot of quilt projects. One was to finish those Jacob's Ladder blocks! So I finished piecing them by MACHINE, and it went so much easier and quicker! Got them arranged into a little quilt top, and will start quilting it soon. So it'll FINALLY (LOL) be finished. :)
