22 november 2011

We woke up to a frosty morning today
and
going out for my walk warranted
some woolly layers:
wool sweaters,
wool socks,
handknit wool cowl,
and handknit wool gloves.
Everything in the field was covered
with glistening crystals of ice.
I hated to come in,
and yet,
the warmth of the woodstove was very welcome.

The rest of the day has been
a bit dismal,
but was perfectly spent sewing
some clothespin bags for the shop
while watching Elizabeth Gaskell's
via Netflix.

Beautiful photos.  Made me a wee bit homesick.  Your sights are so different from what we have around here!

  5. Lovely!  We're looking at wood burning fireplace inserts vs. woodstoves.  Any recommendations?

I can see why you'd want to linger outside but to be inside watching North and South is a real pleasure.  Lost track of the number of times I've seen it and read the book.  In fact, was considering it for tonight as well.  Great minds!

Pretty frosty photos.  I love North & South.  Must remember to watch as the weather cools.

  8. As a neighbor to your east - the frost looks all too familiar. Beautiful photos.
