gift knitting revealed

   It's safe now
to reveal some of the gifts I knit
for Christmas.
These fingerless gloves are
a pattern for Gardner's Gloves
 from Debbie Bliss's book,
The first pair,
for a friend,
were knit in Peruvian Highland Wool,
sport weight, from Knit Picks...

The second pair, for a daughter who doesn't
appreciate wool, are made with Comfy Sport,
a pima cotton/acrylic blend.
I think they've been worn almost
every day since Christmas...

Since they are knit on straight needles
they worked up fairly quick.
Seaming was a bit tedious, but for me,
preferable to working with double points--I just
don't have the coordination for them
with tiny finger openings.
For more details,
please see my Ravelry page.

  5. Don't you just adore that book?  I used it for several christmas gifts, too--the votives and the knitting bag turned out well.  Now, I must add the gardeners gloves.  So pretty!

  6. Lovely and you're inspiring me, yet again, to beef up my Ravely profile.  I tend to knit up projects and give them away without cataloguing them :(

  7. Very nice!  I checked that book out from the library but have been thinking of purchasing it.  I really liked a lot of the projects so it would definately be worth it.

Perfect for those flutists in the marching band during the winter parades (speaking about my daughter and her friends)  :)

  15. Oh I know, I've had several projects 'fall through the cracks' and never make it to my Ravelry page.

My daughter in law promised my grandaughter that I would make her a pair of fingerless gloves. Yours look just right. I looked on your Ravelry page, but don't find anything. Did I look in the wrong place? Help!

I just went back and re-read the post. Pay attention Linda!! Now I see where you got the pattern. I thought it was your original pattern....duh! Sorry for the freak-out.
