a glimpse this week...

...enjoying Amish-made three-year cheddar
and plenty of eggs from the hens for hard boiling

...good mail--a new Country Living magazine and
a new sewing book, Simple Modern Sewing: 8 Basic Patterns to Create 25 Favorite Garments.  I think I'm going to like these
patterns--they are basic and simple, but with lots of
possibilities.

...with the lovely warm weather and sunshine we've
been having { the spring peepers are out in full force,
which is a sure indication that Spring is here--early! }
I brought some of the geraniums from downstairs
under the grow light, and placed them up here
in the windows.

...the garter yoke cardi is coming along well;
only one more sleeve to go...

Hope your week is a pleasant one!

  4. Your home always looks fresh and ready for the upcoming season.

    Deb - As I want to be respectful of the bloggers that I read - how do you feel about people pinning your photos?

    1. Vicki, I appreciate so much that you asked. I haven't really given it a lot of thought, though I did notice once that several of my pictures are on Pinterest. And I don't think that most of the persons pinning them ever asked.
      If the picture gives mention of, or a link back to my blog, I don't mind a photo being pinned--feel free to do so.
      Thanks for the kind words Vicki, I always love reading your comments here...Deb

  7. Hi Deb! I received that same sewing book for Christmas!
    It is wonderful - I have already made one garment from it and just love it.
    The only hard part for me was tracing out the patterns (all those lines on one page was a tad confusing) and then also remembering to add the seam allowance.
    Don't you just want to make almost everything in there?

  12. Thanks for the sewing book posting....that looks like a good one! I just got my CL mag in the mail too. I haven't sewn clothes since my kids were little and they've got their own now but I would like to sew for myself now that I have more time than money! LOL! We used to say the same thing about Spring when I had my little farm in Iowa. When you heard the "peepers" it was Spring for sure.
    That's so great you can get fresh wonderful food like that where you live. I have a cheese making kit I ordered but I haven't tried it yet.
    I also need help with my blog so I think I might get those magazines you have featured about blogging. I didn't even know they existed! Just what I need! I love your blog and we are interested in all the same things! Have a great week!

  15. I noticed you have wooden countertop in your home. I am considering adding them to my home and I was wondering if you like them? Do you have a poly on yours or just tung oil? Do you sanitize them often (chemically)? or just always clean with soap and water? Thanks so much in advance, I really apprecitate everyone's opinion!
