After over a year and a half in limbo, I finally dragged this rocker downstairs last weekend determined to get the rush seat finished.
I used up the first roll of fiber rush and had to start on another roll I had on hand--wouldn't you know they were not quite the same, so if you look closely you can see the difference. I decided not to worry about it and to just enjoy the fact that the rocker now has a sturdy seat on which I can sit and rock, and that I can cross this off my long list of projects in progress.
Besides, I already have a wonderful punch needle pattern I've started for a seat cushion...there's no end to my starting of projects, I'm afraid.
Me too. Isn't it great!
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job on the chair seat BTW!
Thank you Sue!
DeleteGreat job on the chair seat. I also seem to start more projects.... This year will be about finishing them.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks Jackie! I am also vowing to finish up as many projects as possible this winter,

I once fixed a rush seat by replacing it with a woven tape seat. I was so satisfied when it was done. Great job actually tackling the rushed seat. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathie! I'm actually wondering if my rocker might have had a woven tape seat...It has a lot of staple marks on the second rung down.

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBeautiful chair seat! I am in love with the seat cushion pattern!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie! Let's hope it doesn't take me two years to finish the cushion :)

You are so talented Deb! More to the point you persevere and achieve.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rose!
DeleteMy mom used to cane chairs, but she never attempted a rush seat. Your work is always beautiful. I'm sure over time and with use the colors will mellow and not be noticeable. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! So far I have been intimidated by caning--it looks complicated!
