trying to keep warm...
The temperature outside, when we woke up this morning, was -10F...and we were on the warm side as some of the Southtowns were closer to -30F. Add in a little wind, and well, it's a bit colder than what we usually have to deal with around here. Of course it would have to be record cold, right?, since this is the first year in 20+ that we've not had the warmth of a woodstove to enjoy...but now I've found a way to keep myself cozy ~ the cable comfort throw. I used Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn in Oatmeal and am very pleased with it--it's cuddly-soft and warm. More details may be found on my Ravelry page here.
Such a beautiful blanket and nice color!
ReplyDeletePretty! I'm knitting a throw that is very similar to yours. Wish I had used bulky yarn like you did!
ReplyDeleteLove your blanket - looks so cozy. Living here in Arizona, it would even be too warm to have this on my lap to knit, let alone ever use it! But, I can still admire yours and others!
ReplyDeleteSuch a warm & cozy looking blanket. I love the cable! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blanket!
ReplyDeleteWow Deb, that temperature is -34C, I can't begin to imagine how cold that is! I know what +34C to 0C is like, but my mind boggles at subtracting 34 from 0 C! Take care.

ReplyDeleteIt has warmed up some here over the last couple of days. We are now sitting at -24 C or -11 F with very little wind. A couple of days ago we were at a much lower temperature so I understand your wanting to keep warm.
God bless.
Your throw looks cozy & warm. It's very cold in Illinois too, but at least the sun is shining!
ReplyDeleteHere are some ways to help stay warm.
