corners of my home

Finally, I finished my Thankful banner, for which I am thankful to Clarice who posted it for our use. I think it looks beautiful, Clarice, thanks so much!

The banner is hanging from an old cupboard I have hanging in the kitchen, so for today's 'corner' I will give you a peek at what is inside.

~my small collection of mostly old mixing bowls; only the green one is new from Target

~one mixing bowl is full of wine corks I've saved for some reason

~and one bowl holds most of my cookie cutters

~a cow creamer

~some vintage canisters

I almost got rid of the canister set once when I was trying to pare down. They were in a box to be given away or sold on ebay, but I just couldn't do it!

I've been trying to get some things done ahead for the upcoming holidays so I am not feeling overwhelmed right before Christmas. This week I made a couple batches of cookie dough and froze it. There are lots of gifts I would like to make/knit/sew, so I've slowly been working on those also. Organizedchristmas.com has been a great help to pace myself, just in case you're interested!

  4. I really enjoy all the photos of your home. Lots of inspiration as I prepare to move back to my own home in the new year and begin renovations. Your cabinet display is just beautiful. I wouldn't have been able to get rid of those cannisters either :)

  6. I've been meaning to do a similar banner. I'll have to head over to Clarice's, which is always a pleasure anyway.

Your cabinet looks wonderful and I love the bowls. It's a great idea to store your cookie cutters in one! The shelf looks so gorgeous and I do not blame you one bit for not letting those canisters go. They're really special. I've never seen any like them.

I'm a Homespun copycat, ya know. I went out last week and bought a mixing bowl similar to the one Mrs. Staggs sent you. I used it to mix up waffles for the boys this week...love it.

  7. I always enjoy seeing the corners of your home! So much so that I think I will add that to my blog as well! I am always amazed at how much I have in common with those whose blogs I enjoy the most ~I also save wine corks...love old mixing bowls ...and keep cookie cutters in one of my old bowls!

We all must be kindred spirits! I love your yelloware and have my own collection I treasure. Those canisters are keepers--don't even think of getting rid of those:-) I am inspired by your banner and off to make one--thanks for posting these pictures.

LOVE the yelloware bowls! You have a lovely collection of them. I own two which hang out on my mantle. Right now one is holding fall leaves and the other tiny pumpkins.

  11. Love that banner! It was so nice of Clarice to share the pattern.
I love old fashioned bowls and your old cuboard is "just right".
Every now and then I say enough is enough and do some editing of things. It's inevitable that I wish for something back a while later. I'm glad that you kept those canisters.
    Thank you for the link!

Lovely banner and what a beautiful cabinet display, I wouldn't have been able to part with anything either - sometime de-cluttering in't all it's cracked up to be.

  15. Love you cupboard and bowls. I saw a show (can't remember which show) where they made a shadow box type coffee table and filled it with wine corks. It was real interesting!

I was researching on the web and came to your photos. I am trying to turn a closet into a nice cupboard space for all my mixing bowls, old utensils, etc. Thanks for the ideas that I took from your "bowl" cupboard!! You have inspired me in so many ways. Thanks from upstate NY!
