harvest

What beautiful late summer days we have been enjoying, each one flying by much too fast as we try to fit in one more long walk, one more bike ride, and some more time spent relaxing on the glider. Tonight, the first frost is a possibility, so we worked in the garden. The pumpkins and gourds are harvested, peppers and eggplant were picked, as well as some tomatoes, and onions were pulled. That done, we headed inside for a dinner of (homegrown) roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and carrots. Then I realized that it is Thursday again already! and time for another mug cozy giveaway....

If you would like a chance to win please just leave a comment to that effect. If you entered the last giveaway drawing, your name is already in the bowl...drawing will be sometime on Sunday, Deb

HOw do you get such pretty pumpkins? We grow organically, and we get maybe one - 5 pumpkins per year at the most, because we get hit by squash bug and wilt. Do you have any advice?

    Hello Deb !
I visit your blog daily, but I don't usually leave comments, because I'm French and it's not so easy to write in english for me, but I think today is just the right day to do so ;-) This mug cosy is lovely !
And the harvest from your garden is beautiful

  24. We harvested our cinderella pumpkins, butternut squash and pie pumpkins yesterday. Pictures to come in the next few days on my blog, the cinderella pumpkins are something! Got about a wheelbarrow full of squash and pie pumpkins...did you know butternut squash will keep on the shelf all winter. In spring they will still look as if you've just picked them!
    My favourite storage veggie.
    Have a blessed weekend
