making rose water

I made my rose water
and have been using it on my face
for just over a week now.
I have to admit my skin does feel softer,
and the rose water smells
oh so good.
I used a distilled method found
there are easier ways,
but I wanted to give this one a try.
Now I'm thinking of making
a rose water linen spray,
if you've ever made your own
with rose petals,
I would love to know how...
thanks,
~Deb

  1. I love rosewater, thanks for sharing this! I can't wait to make some of my own, I always buy it and it's expensive.

  3. Wow! Your rosewater looks great, and the smell must be lovely. I really like your clothespin bag. The red fabric looked so great on it.

  10. Do you have an especially fragrant rose to recommend? Mine are kind of lack luster.

  11. I have not made rosewater, but lots of lavender water. I make linen spray and also little sachet bags of it. I have a huge glass jar that I put the lavender buds in after they have dried in a paperbag. Throughout the winter months when I want a smell of freshness I scatter a handful on the carpets, crushing them as I go. I leave them to sit and when I vacuum them up it is delicious. Also make lemon lavender cupcakes and lavender shorbread. I think I need to get some rose petals from my mom!

  12. I've never made rosewater, but I should! It sounds heavenly. I also have lavender that I could put to a similar use. Thanks for the great idea!
