a giveaway!!

** WE HAVE A WINNER! ~ THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL WHO ENTERED :) **
For quite some time I have been considering a new
comment format for this site...something
that would allow me to reply more easily
to your kind words & questions
...something that would make my replies visible
to other readers as well.
Today I made the jump to Disqus, and I'm
hoping all goes well.  None of my old comments
have made the move, but I am patiently/nervously waiting
for that to resolve.
It is my hope that this platform will
allow more conversation.
To encourage you to give it a try,
I would like to have a giveaway ~ just leave
a comment and let me know what you think
about Disqus.
You have til Friday night, and I will announce the winner
Saturday.
Up for grabs is the little notebook you saw above
and this snap wallet, which is made
from a vintage cotton tablecloth and some
natural colored linen.
There are two compartments inside--a main
pocket and a smaller zippered pocket.

THANKS!

From what I have seen Disqus looks to be a good move for this blog. I hope it works out well for you! And thanks for sponsoring a giveaway, such a nice thing to do.

  2. I like how Disqus allows comments to before more like a conversation. Easy to use, too. What's not to like :) I'll have to look into it further, perhaps for my own websites!

Thank you for this giveaway, both the notebook and the snap wallet are adorable!

I haven't heard of disqus before, but it sounds interesting. Weird thing happening as I type, the whitearea below this comment area keeps getting longer and longer, more than two times my screen size. It appears to grow by one line for every word I type.
The giveaway looks intersting. Acutally , now I can't see what I'm typingl. Hope the 'bugs' work out.

  9. thanks for being our guinea pig! I hate when I want to start a conversation via email with someone who has commented on my blog, but their address comes over as "noreply" type :( I'm interested to see how this disqus works.

  10. alcatmom5:57 PM

OK, I'll try it. Seems easy enough but why does the box keep getting bigger and bigger as I type?!?!?!?! Ai-yi-yi!! That's really strange. I love that pussywillow fabric - so cute!

I'm still quite blog illiterate..it's one of my goals for this year..to amp up my blog and I find so much inspiration from your blog and those others out there that are so awesome. Disqus is one of the things I will need to check into..once it's passed muster! ;o) Thanks for paving the way! Blessings!

  18. Hoosier at Heart6:35 PM

This is exactly the type of format I've been looking for. I always find it confusing as to whether I should just email the blogger personally or just comment back on my own blog and hope they see it. I hope this works for you. Let us know and maybe give us some hints when you've decided how you like it? Lovin the snap wallet too! Thanks!

  28. So far it seems simpler than the traditional blogger faire. I've had a lot of problem with random comments from some Asian country? Yikes! I wonder if there are any safeguards built into this system...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Bareftmom7:23 PM

I have never heard of Disqus but I will be interested to hear what you think about it. I always feel bad that I can't reply easily to comments left on my blog, so this just might be the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Supposedly, from my research, spam should not get through--I will certainly find out :)

I just wanted to let you know that your blog was the first blog I had ever read, and for a while the only one :) I just love to look at your photos and read what you've been up to. My life is busy and hectic with 3 children, 2 cats, a dog, and oh yeah, that guy that brings home the bacon, my husband...lol. Reading your blog and seeing your beautiful pictures calms me down and makes me imagine what it would be like to lead a more peaceful life. Thank you.

  79. I've never used Disqus (before now), but it seriously took me about three tries to figure out how to say it. Apparently I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed first thing in the morning :)

The notebook is so cute -- did you make it? I sure I hope I win (of course), but otherwise I'm considering making a few notebooks to offset the disappointment in my 8 yo who loves it and thinks I'm buying it. :)
