is it Spring yet?

After waking up to -8 F/ -22 C a few days
ago and being surrounded by white & gray outside,
it is hard not to think
of Spring.
So, I have started an amaryllis bulb,
hung some botanical prints from
an old book,
and brought a primula home from my
grocery trip today
~ it made
my day when I saw a display table
covered with those bold pink, yellow,
and red flowers.

  1. I wish!!!! I hate the winter. I need heat! I'm originally from Phoenix and live in Colorado now. Not liking the cold or snow. . . at all!!!

  2. So pretty! I'm wondering if your vintage phone is in use, or just for prettiness?

  3. I think we all start to think about spring in January... maybe it's because the days slowly start getting longer. Love your photos, that flower is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Oh how I wish it was Spring. This winter thing is getting to me. Instead I've dug out all my old gardening magazines and books and plan to spend the day tomorrow planning and dreaming of planting time.

  9. I love it when the primroses appear at the store! Looking at your books, remember when they used to have Sister Wendy on PBS talking about all those paintings? Those shows were so interesting.

  14. I'm always inspired by your blog. My amaryllis is looking about like yours, though not in such an original container. And I bought seeds when grocery shopping the other day, just because I needed some "spring"! As always your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
