  2. I have the same donut/biscuit cutter! It was my grandmother's. My donuts are never that big though!

  3. Maybe I'm cutting them out too thick-by the time they rise and bake, the hole is squeezed shut.

    Those look delicious!  I'm trying them soon,too.  Love your pictures from your walks, and also that orchid.  My youngest has been wanting one for her room.  That may be a good present for her!

    We always make donuts in the fall, but with he boys grown I haven't done it this year yet. But the next time we are all together we will do it!

  9. Your doughnuts look delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I would love to try my hand at knitting...do you have any suggestions how I should start? Books, tutorials, etc. that may help.

  10. Tina, here are a couple books that I found quite helpful: Stitch n' B*tch: The Knitter's Handbook by Debbie Stoller and Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman. If you are having trouble with a particular technique, a google search of it will usually bring up some video tutorials and hopefully you will find something helpful. Also, some yarn shops have knitting groups/lessons. Best wishes!
