This is my version...
...not exactly the same as in the book ~ I used some heavy cotton webbing I had for a single strap handle. The cream-colored felt was from my scrap bin as well {try not to notice that the crosses are starting to pill a little}.
I saw quite a few projects in Zakka Sewing for which I would love to make time...you can see a gallery of some of them here. *Edited to fix link ~ sorry!
love it! it looks great, I love the grey and cream together.
ReplyDeletewell done :)
cute top.. but cute tote, too! Your blog is so inspiring to me!
ReplyDeleteNice bag. Don't you love projects from leftovers?
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great idea. To use old clothing to make something brand new. Gotta remember that one!!

Thanks for posting a photo of your tote from Zakka Sewing. It looks great. In case Chika and Terry, the authors, haven't already seen this post, I'll forward the link to them. I know they'll be so pleased.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous! I have a thing for cool bags - and this one is really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSorry ladies if I have been confusing ~ I didn't cut up the top {I love it too much to do that}; I just used some of the leftover wool fabric to make the bag...Deb
ReplyDeleteLove the tote and the top!

Very cool bag! I've been giving away fabric left and right. I need to sew up some too for self and daughter. I have an entire pattern cabinet full of fabric, not to mention the plastic tubs in the attic!
ReplyDeleteI love the gray. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I love the simplicity of the design, which works so well in grey and white.
ReplyDeleteLove both the top and the tote...the cream and gray are FAB together. You did such an awesome job. I may have to check into getting that book!
ReplyDeleteI'm always inspired when I come to your site...I'm in the sewing creating mood right now...but alas...cleaning house and de-cluttering to sell is looming larger right now! Hmph...seems I never have enough time to create and be FREE from all the other intrusions!
Blessings....
Teresa
Oh! I absolutely love it! It looks fantastic!!! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteHey...I wanted to let you know, I tried your waffle weave knitting pattern for dish cloths! I posted a pic on my blog on today's entry if you want to see! I just LOVE that pattern! :) Thanks so much!
