a simple cake & a simple slipper

A bit of baking went on this weekend,
a habit I'm getting back into
as the fall weather keeps us inside more:
~zucchini muffins for breakfast this week
~these chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies for snacks
and
~marie-helene's apple cake
no mixer involved, just my old egg beater...
No picture of the finished product
as it was eaten very quickly with
a bit of whipped cream on top.
A simple cake that is just delicious!
~
The slippers are my most recent crochet project.
When I saw a picture of them online,
I couldn't resist purchasing the pattern.
They work up quickly using
two strands of worsted weight yarn
and a larger size hook.
I added a couple of vintage buttons
from my button tin.
On Ravelry here.

They are lovely Deb. I am currently learning to crochet which is a bit tricky after decade of knitting.

Sorry - I don't know how 'staci king' got into my post - please delete my post, but please let me know if there is a similar knitting pattern for the slippers.  Also, I bought one of your bags several weeks ago - love it!

  5. So glad you like the bag you bought :-) There is a similar slipper pattern in a book by Erika Knight called Simple Crochet.

    {I'll go ahead and delete the comment for you.}

    Thanks for the visit!

  6. I'm sorry, you wanted a slipper pattern to knit and I gave you the name of a crochet book--I must be getting a little tired.  If I find a knitted pattern I will let you know.

I just ordered the pattern and am looking forward to making some of these cuties!  Our schools are closed next week for Thanksgiving so that means no work for a week.  Guess you know what I'll be doing ;-)
