some homemade gift ideas

Perhaps, if you're like me, you still have some gift making on your to~do list.  I've gathered some of my tutorials from the archives for projects that are fairly quick...just in case you are looking for some ideas.

What is better than a snowy afternoon spent crafting by the fire while listening to some Christmas music?

It's a snowy, cold day here and I'm glad to have plenty
to keep me busy inside.  Besides gift making, I have only just
started my cookie baking {biscotti today and shortbread}, and there is still decorating to be done, and the tree to be chosen this weekend.

And, we haven't given up hope on completing the farmhouse table for Christmas.  We found some great planks at an Amish shop and hope they'll be ready this week.

Hope you're enjoying your Advent.

  1. I love all your ideas for gifts. I was tempted to make your boot cuffs a few weeks ago, but decided I didn't want to try cables just yet - I need to get some boot cuffs finished and ready for Christmas! But I'll give your pattern a try once the holidays have past. I wish I had a dollar for every dishcloth I've knitted from your pattern - I really like your first pattern.

Have a very merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year. Looking forward to reading more of your blog in the months to come.

  2. I am sewing a few gifts--a cash envelope wallet with fabric envelopes and a play apron for my daughter. One done, one to go. Also have a quick embroidery project planned.

I think I need to revisit knitting. I love the mug cozy and dishcloths.

  4. I made your waffle knit dishcloths for gifts last year and have had many requests for this year, so that is my last minute knitting this week. It is my favorite dishcloth pattern!

  5. Just finished up the last of the gifts, but you always need new dishcloths right.

    God bless.
