before & afters

This is our hallway ~ before...

This is an old lamp that belonged to my
grandma...
The lamp now, spray painted cream with
a new shade...

And the dresser, now, painted a french gray blue,
with a different mirror,
and the 'new' lamp...
No more carpeting,
but a new white-painted wood floor
and runner.
And that's our hallway make-over!

It looks great! Wow, that was one wild and crazy lamp. It looks very pretty painted creamy white.

  5. Your hallway looks so fresh and bright now. The paint on the lamp really softened it and made the details of the lady more subtle but interesting.

  23. Makeover looks lovely. My parents had two matching male figurine lamps similar your grandmothers. Just black and cream though not as colourful as yours. They saw them in a store window and bought them on layaway when they were married in 1948. They were stylish back then.

  24. I'm trying to gather the courage to paint a piece of furniture that I can't stand the way it is right now. It's one of those shiny maple hutch thingies with glass doors and gold knobs. Send me courage. I want to take the doors off to show off my beautiful books and change the gold hardware.
