Since the living room & dining room were emptied out for the ceiling job, we decided it was the perfect time to repaint the walls--same color, but now all clean & fresh looking. Then I/we decided, well, it would be a good time to remove the old wall-to-wall carpeting since we'd been wanting wood flooring for some time. So, very-talented-and-handy-husband ripped out lots of carpet, padding, and staples and started laying plank flooring which I am painting a creamy white...
We're getting there, slowly but surely, somehow fitting it in between all the mowing, planting of the garden, weeding, chicken-tending, etc.

Absolutely lovely! Do you seal them?
ReplyDeleteI'm totally intrigued by painting floors! *Ü*

Love your floor! What type of paint and finish are you using on it?
ReplyDeleteThe floor is beautiful! Great job! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
ReplyDeleteIt is going to look great. Can't wait to see it when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteRuth
It looks SO beautiful and charming - can't wait to see more results. Too bad you don't have more things to do...ha.

Looks great!
ReplyDeleteIs it tongue and groove flooring?
ReplyDeleteHow are you going to protect it from scratches or are you going for the worn look? I am curious as we have a huge room 20x30 (bedroom) that has yucky carpet. Hubby wants new carpet and I want hardwood floors on a beer budget!:(
I have thought of just using 1x6 and 1x8 and 1x12 in number 2 pine and varying the widths across the floor. (it's plywood below the carpet now)
Let me know what you did....thanks!
Oh I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe floor looks perfect! So fitting with the rest of the house!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteOMG I love the floor!!! wish i had thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThe floor looks so great! I'd also like to know how you did it because we just painted our porch floor & it didn't turn out so well!
ReplyDeleteOh, it looks so beautiful Deb and full of charm :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Absolutely Beauitful!!! One question, what kind of paint did you use to avoid lots of scratches and chips, and what do you use to clean it. One more question, what kind of planks did he use? Thanks, and have a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteThat floor is gorgeous. I can't afford hardwood for all of my house right now, but I love it and need it desperately. I, too, am wondering what kind of planks you used and what kind of paint you chose.
