walking, reading, knitting, sewing...

The last few days have been spent,

~enjoying as many walks & nature as possible

~finding some new books at the library:

~and, indulging in the urge to knit that always strikes
this time of year

~starting on a Baktus and making a resolution
to dutifully record all knitting projects
in my little notebook from this time forward

~planning more drawstring pouches for firefly farm goods...
thank you to all who purchased a pouch last week!

Hope your week is off to a great start :)

  1. Would like to know how you find Getting Started Knitting Socks to be.  I want to take a class but the local ones are all in the evenings--when I prefer to be home with the fam (tho I'm often at kids' practices).  I'm just going to have to teach myself.

Getting Started Knitting Socks is my favourite sock book - the one that taught me to knit socks!

  8. I've not made anything from it yet, but it looks like a perfect beginner book. It has a good introduction to sock knitting with all kinds of basic information, and it has a very basic sock pattern, with instructions for five different weights of yarn. There are also other fancier patterns in the book as well. {And lots of helpful pictures.} A couple readers have mentioned the book is a favorite.

  16. Sounds like a lovely time to me.  I really should write down my knitting as well in a notebook.  I find that I have papers scattered everywhere.  The baktus is wonderful.  I made a lacy baktus.  I love that color yarn from Knitpicks.  Do you like the feel of it?

Sounds like some dreamy days there. Your little book of recording your projects sounds lovely and like a great idea. The Baktus triangle sounds intriguing, but how do you know if you will have enough yarn if you are using up leftovers? Would you need a whole ball?
