It's another gorgeous day here~warm and windy. The clothes hung out on the line were dry in no time. For morning tea, I had a piece of this delicious coffee cake thanks to a recipe Kelli posted last week. Since I had homegrown blueberries in the freezer I did use them instead of the raspberry jam, and I dusted it with a little confectioner's sugar. This is sooo good~thanks Kelli!
Last week I finished the summer sweater, which is a combination of Tempting and Tempting II (from Knitty.com). The neckband took me four trys before I got it right, partly because of an error in the directions and partly because I wanted the neck opening a little bit smaller than pictured on the model.
Following the pattern resulted in a hugely wide neckband, and a google search brought up some other knitters' solutions.
That sweater is adorable! I would love to learn to knit. I can crochet, but haven't been able to figure out 2 needles.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts. You are so creative.
Cute sweater!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous Deb. Definitely worth all the fiddling with the neck.
ReplyDeleteThat cake does look good (as does the sweater), but I think you can tell where my mind is right now as I'm off to check out the recipe.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sweater, Deb!!! It looks wonderful on you! I'm so glad you liked the cake...Clarice mentioned using fresh berries too so I'm going to try that next time! Have a great week!

Love that sweater!! Looks great on and I love the button. That gives it a very unique look. I only learned how to do the basic knitting and never followed up on it. I can crochet however.
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks good too! Makes my mouth water, as that would taste good right now with a nice cup of coffee!
Cute sweater...and thank you for making me salivate with that cake!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater turned out wonderfully! I love the button you added. Everything looks wonderful. And that coffee cake is really making me hungry.
ReplyDeleteWe were very lucky to have lived just down the road from a berry farm; we've always kept blueberries in the freezer. They are so very versatile (even yummy as a frozen snack!), and look quite delicious in Kelli's cake! :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweater -- lovely color! :o)
What a nice sweater you have made, and the cake look yummy :o)

I love your sweater. Isn't googling the best? What did women do before google? LOL Your dessert for tea looks yummy. How do you stay so perfectly thin? :) Oh yeah....hanging laundry and all that other stuff you're always doing. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe sweater is gorgeous and really suits your figure. I can knit well but wouldn't dare to try and adapt a pattern - clever thing!
