enjoying summer's end

We have had some hot days lately but autumn is in the air ~ cooler in the morning and darker~so hard to get out of bed this morning when it was still pitch black outside. The plants in the garden are dwindling. Today I picked some more tomatoes for canning...maybe tomorrow.
I cut the pumpkins and placed them on some straw between the sunflowers and the strawberry plants.
Also harvested the gourds ~the ornaments of the garden~ not a lot of them, but enough for a little bit of autumn decorating. I gave them a good showering off and left them on the chair to dry.
Still working on some dishcloths and experimenting with different stitches, colors, and edgings. For those of you who asked, I will let you know when I add some to the shop.

Hope your day was good as well!

  1. Those are the most beautiful fall pictures! I would love to someday be able to grow food and not just flowers.

I also love your dishclothes. Have you ever crocheted any? My daughter and I just bought a pattern. She can knit, but I can't. We can both crochet so we thought it would be fun to do together. Yours are lovely. Also, thank you for sharing which thread you use.

I've only been able to grow 1 pumpkin in about 7 years! Actually I haven't been able to grow any type of squash (not even zucchini)! I envy you your squash!!! And your tomatoes!

Yes, do please let me know about the dishcloths I'd love to have some.
