spring

"Spring, with that nameless pathos in the air

Which dwells with all things fair,

Spring, with her golden suns and silver rain,

Is with us once again."
Henry Timrod [1829 - 1867]

Right now...loving the sunshine pouring in, the sound of the spring peepers & birds singing, the flowers poking up in the garden, and hanging clothes once again on the line.

  1. Oh Deb! I am with you on all points! Tho, we are due for some snow/rain this week-end. Never mind...shortly after, it will get warmer. It has to...it's spring! I have hung clothes on the line several times the past few weeks, tho my clothespin bag is tattered and worn...no more to be used. :(

  4. I love Spring, too, but here in Atlanta we're in the midst of the terrible storms, torrential rains and blankets of pine pollen. I'm so glad you're having beautiful days. I'm looking forward to some next week.

That lemon bread in your previous post looks amazing.

  9. We must be at similiar seasonal stages...our hyacinths are about the same size! Think sun and warmth! That's what I'm doing!
    It's gotta happen soon!!

  13. I've been reading the latest issue of Artful Blogging this morning and was reminded that I first learned about your blog from the previous issue. And then for this lovely post on spring to come up. There's so much I appreciate about your writing-- descriptions of simple but beautiful home and projects, clean design of your webpage. Would love my own blog to have some of these qualities--must keep working on it!

  20. Debbie@TheShadySpot--Here is a link to the blog post where I talked about the wood countertops: http://homespunliving.blogspot.com/2007/04/little-more-of-kitchen-some-answers.html
They were made out of gymnasium flooring and the stain I used was Miniwax {Cherry}.
