Moms,
I hope your Mother's Day was special.
~
My day included special wishes & gifts
from the kids,
a wonderful brunch,
a sunny warm day to enjoy the outdoors,
and a break from the usual chores.
~
As a bonus,
on Saturday, we headed to the Amish store
and hit the first yard sales
of the season.
I found the ovenware covered dish
with Homer Laughlin's Virginia Rose
pattern,
which matches some bowls and plates
I have;
and
an Edge Malkin transferware piece,
missing its top I think and a bit
chipped,
but I love it all the same.
~
I'm off to bake some fresh cut rhubarb
into a pie,
~Deb
What lovely finds. Alas, yard sales are few & far between here in South Africa. : (
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely weekend Deb, mothers day here was end of March. I would love to look round an Amish store, it sounds interesting. Who is the photo of in your second picture?
ReplyDeleteHi Claire! The photo is of my maternal grandparents on their wedding day. I never knew my grandfather who died when my mom was only 16; my grandma was just the sweetest woman I've ever known--a real blessing to all us grandkids!
