Two recent finds ~ a wonderful, old air force mail bag and a Sunnyfield family flour sack ~ have been upcycled into a shoulder bag and a tote bag. Both can now be found in my Firefly Farm Goods shop.
I just love your bags! I was wondering if you could tell me where you purchase your leather for your handles? I make bags too and think the leather handles make them look so professional!
I'll just reiterate previous comments. I would love to know more about the type of sewing machine you use to sew through heavy fabrics and leather. Also curious about where you buy your leather and how you attach snaps and other metal. Your bags go fast and I might have to try to make my own.
Your bags are super cool! I ditto the comment above me...how do you do it? I could probably never make one as great as yours, but we would love to know the process! The leather looks fabulous. I think you need to market to some of these fancy magazines like Sundance or something....you are good!
Thank you for taking time to leave a comment--I love reading each and every one! I will try to answer any questions you have in the comment section. Due to the amount of spam, I am sadly no longer able to accept Anonymous comments....Kindly, Deb
You're so clever Deb! Your sewing machine must be quite heavy duty to be able to stitch into those handles!
ReplyDeleteVery very nice but I snaffled the best one. ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the encouraging words! I will try to answer some of the bag-making questions in a future blog post, Deb.
DeleteThank you Deb! Some of the leather looks like parts of a man's belt? Such clever use and recycling too!
DeleteInspired bags! I always enjoy your posts.
