Despite the imminent, official start of Spring, it is still winter here in all it's varying shades of browns and grays with a bit of drab green.
Feeling a need for some color, I dug out a crochet project from 2 years ago--some granny squares to be made into a pillow cover.
After spending some time under our bed, the squares had ended up
in the basement, where I rescued them this week.
After some digging in my knitting basket,
I found the blue yarn and spent some enjoyable time,
with tea and some Irish soda bread,
crocheting the last round and connecting them at the same time.
{Tutorial for that can be found here.}
Hopefully I can get the pillow cover finished before
two more years go by!
Seeing work pillow cover really makes me yearn to learn crochet, it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteSpring is here in the south...along with the yellow haze of pollen it brings with it!
Thanks Tracey! Right now I'm ready to take some pollen over snow :) ...Deb

ReplyDeletei love the color combos you are using in your squares, too.
i have so many things that just sit in my knitting and crochet bin that i have not finished, when i find them i usually pull them apart. i should really be more like you and actually finish them! thanks for more inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI know...sometimes it's hard to get enthused about finishing some of those long-lost projects {of which I have many!}...Deb
DeleteI get so inspired to do things but have more plans than finished projects! LOL! But altogether it is enjoyable; the planning, seeing others WIP's and FO's, looking on blogs and Pinterest, magazines.....and on and on!
ReplyDeleteI love your color choices and what a gorgeous pillow that is going to be. What yarn and hook size did you use? Your blog always reminds me of Alicia Paulson whom I love too. Do you read her blog? If not I think you would like her too. I better go work on some of my WIP's now! Take care! Don't forget to show us the pics when it's done!
Thanks for coming by! I am really trying to make an effort to finish projects, not start them. {Why is it so much more fun to start them!}
DeleteThe yarns used are all scraps of worsted weight, and the hook is H/8/5mm...Deb
I am finally starting to work on all those unfinished projects. I was happy to find out that I am not the only one who seems to have many of these around the house. Your pillow cover looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks Jackie! I could probably spend the next year finishing up all the projects I've started.

Your photos are so lovely... sunshine streaming through the windows. Please show us the pillow cover when it's finished. The colors are so pretty! It's pretty drab here in Northeast/Central PA, but soon the bulbs will be blooming! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patti! I will be sure to show the pillow cover finished - that will give me incentive to get it done quickly....Deb
DeleteLove your crochet! Are you a fan of Attic 24? I have become enthralled by the possibilities of crochet, but am just learning. I love the gentle rhythm of it.

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful - like everything else you've made. I'm sure you'll enjoy it soon and wonder why you didn't finish it earlier.
