some fall touches

Not a good year in our garden for pumpkins, gourds, or squash, but I managed to gather a few pumpkins and gourds to decorate inside and out...with the help of some little orange pumpkins from the Amish store.  A walk through the fields provided some colorful leaves and crab apples.

Thanks so much for your comments on the last post...I appreciate all the wonderful recipe ideas for using up apples. {In case you missed it, check out the comments section.} I've made another large batch of applesauce--canning what I had jars for and freezing up the rest.  Luckily there are still some apples left to try out something new.  Thanks for your suggestions!

  2. Very pretty! A few years ago, I bought a lot of the fake ornamental gourds from the Dollar Tree. They look very real and I can use them over & over. I do love the real thing, though. :o)

You did a lovely job decorating.

    God bless.

  4. Another idea for using all the apples..... I saw on Katie Brown Workshop, that she has a recipe for Apple Brownies.... They look easy and delicious.

  6. Very pretty! I'm afraid I won't be doing much decorating until we get a bit closer to Christmas, so I'm glad I get to sit back and enjoy your photos!
