Sorry, but I'm having a little bit of 'computer rage' at the moment. So many pictures of things I would like to share but it seems I just cannot get them uploaded to blogger. For the last 2 days I have been trying with not much success. I suspect either my computer or the fact that we have very slow dial-up to be the culprit. It's time for my morning tea time and I will try to relaaaaax :) But before I go, here are the two aprons I picked up at the flea market (this was the most I could upload). They are very vintage looking~I think~ and well-worn but not worn-out, if that makes sense.
The fabric on the right was my favorite, with the blues & greens.
Here's a view from the back...
There is a wonderful little booklet from 1928 that I found at a yard sale with some sewing ideas for aprons, and I want to show you one I made, so I will try again to post when I am in a more patient mood. (Has anyone else experienced any problems uploading pictures to Blogger?)
These are wonderful. I like green and blue together, also. They don't look worn at all, I agree and yes, that did make perfect sense. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the one you made. We've all been having problems with Blogger. It seems they're having some technical difficulties. In fact, I backed up my entire blog on xanga, just in case.
I was so happy to see your post! I really like your blog alot.
I really like your aprons too! So oldfashioned, very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI also have had big problems with Blogger. But it seems ok now. :)
My great grama wore aprons just like those! Memories....
ReplyDeleteOh I love them!! Give away..ME! ME! Love your skirt..I dont know why you second guessed yourself! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI am just thrilled having found your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have had fun reading all your past posts! And I feel such a connection to you!
I'm a farm girl from WI, having moved to Phx 30 years ago, married my wonderful hubby and raised three kids.
Life is so good, but I long for the simple, homespun living of my childhood. So all you awesome bloggers are helping me reconnect to my past... those things I loved doing, but have put on the shelf while raising my family. Thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE these aprons. They protect more than today's aprons do.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. I found it yesterday and have been pouring over your archive. Your style is very similar to mine.
Thanks for sharing,
Liberty
