The last of the vintage book cover
planners & journals were mailed out
yesterday. Thank you all for your
purchases and comments...
and if you would like to leave a link
to your own vintage book project
I would love to see it.
All my book-making supplies have
been packed away for now,
and I'm back at the sewing machine
making some more bags...
The light has changed lately...the sunshine is
brighter and it's still light out
as I'm fixing dinner.
The daily morning walk
is much more enjoyable.
We've had hardly any snow this
winter, and already I hear birds singing
in the trees, a flock of geese passed overhead,
and the tulips & rhubarb are just poking their
heads out.
This morning was a bit frosty,
but spring is definitely in the air...
The ladies are loving it too
and giving me 10 to 12 beautiful eggs
a day--it's feast or famine here
when it comes to egg production :)
~
Hope it's sunny where you are,
Deb
Our weather is similar...although snowing as I type. Our chickens have been quite happy with the more mild winter, as well. We are getting about a dozen eggs a day too...such a blessing those hens are! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are (and it sounds as if it is so) enjoying your week! :)
Dear Deb, I still love my bag! I'm wondering what kind of sewing machine you have? The bags you make are so strong and durable. I'm also thankful for longer days!
ReplyDeleteGrace, my sewing machine is a Viking Platinum 715, and I've really been happy with it...Deb
DeleteI love your pictures!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a rather dim part of life right now. I've been watching my Mama decline and the transition to the nursing home just isn't going smoothly. All that to say, your daily creative inspiration helps more than you can imagine. Just a look inside your warm kitchen and workspace inspires me to keep going. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and your mom and hoping for the best during this difficult time for you all...Deb
DeleteI've noticed a tiny change in the length of the day, it's getting slightly shorter, hence your longer day. :) We are having our coolest wettest summer in sixty years. Blankets on the bed in February? Unheard of!
ReplyDeleteAnd we've had our warmest, greenest winter in a long time! So nice to hear from you Rose!...Deb
DeleteI am so glad you sold all those journals. I still have yet to make mine. I have a bunch of books to choose from, but I just haven't the courage to rip the covers off yet! I may have to actually purchase one specifically for this project!
ReplyDeleteI know, there are many of my old books that I could not bear to cut into either...Deb
DeleteYour pictures are so beautiful. How fun to have chickens and fresh eggs. Hope your nice weather continues and your hens provide you with lots of eggs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Crickit!....Deb
DeleteI hope winter doesn't go out like a lion! We've had such a mild winter I'm afraid we'll get one of those big 12 inch snowfalls in late March! It's been a long time, but I've seen it happen here in central AR before!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos--wishing I had a chicken coop and some lovely freshly laid eggs!

Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteI recently found your blog and have actually gone back and read most of your posts from years past. What a nice blog! Your appreciation of nature and simple pleasures is so refreshing. I have been inspired by you to take on some new crafting and baking projects at my farm near Ottawa, ON. January weather was awful, but the sun has been shining all week here...some encouragement! Keep up the good work.
Lori Ann
Lori Ann, thanks for the kind words! I hope you'll visit again...Deb
