my workspace

My workroom was beginning to look as if a bomb had
gone off, so I spent time over the weekend
clearing piles of clutter.
Now the top of the desk is visible...

the piles of fabric and projects
on the floor are cleared out...

and the top of the cubby unit is cleaned
and rearranged...

I even managed to fit in a little
sewing project which I'll show you next time.

Hope your weekend was a good one,

Deb

  2. I love the cubbies! They look so vintage and chic, where did you find them? Or were they custom made?

    1. Kate, the cubby unit was found in a dumpster by a friend--thank goodness my husband wasn't afraid to rescue it. We're not sure where it originally came from...Deb

I love your cubbies too. Like you, I keep all my buttons and ribbons etc. in jars. I love your sand coloured bowl, such a great shape, and your Maman jam jars! You must feel so inspired to make things when you go into that room.

  8. What a nice place to be creative! I love the little blue chest of drawers and the little chair with the basket beside the window. And of course the cubbies. It looks like a nice big room with lots of light.

  10. Your room looks great. I have to confess, it is making me a little ashamed of the state of my "space." I will use it as inspiration...

I appreciate that your Stop HHS link is unobtrusively placed at the bottom of an entry, and therefore about as non-confrontational as a political statement could possibly be. Thank you for presenting it in that manner.

That said, I'd like to voice my hope that you will not post any further political links or opinions in this blog. I ADORE your photographs, and blog, and like so many of your followers, I find it so inspirational.

I don't happen to agree with your viewpoint in the birth control topic. Even if I did, I come to your blog looking for inspiration to dream, relax, and escape the pressures of politics and how ugly it can get. I'd hate to see such a beautiful refuge spoiled by further political communication.

Thanks for reading some comments from just one reader here -- and thank you for your continued beauty through this blog.

    1. Trace, thank you for the kind words and for respectfully voicing your opinion. I have always tried to create a place here where visitors will find peace, hope, and inspiration. If I place a link, it is only after much thought and consideration as to its truth and value--I hope that no one should ever feel pressured by it.
Since beginning this blog, I have only received thoughtful words of kindness and encouragement from my readers ~ that's the wonderful kind of people they are! ~ and for that I am most grateful.
I hope you will choose to visit again...Deb

Thank you for the reply. I truly appreciate both the unobtrusive and non-confrontational placement of your link, as noted - and your reassurance that you consider thoroughly the links you're posting.

  17. I love your blog and your decorating. It seems like such a peaceful place to stop and read and gather ideas.

Having said that, you go ahead and post whatever you want because it's your blog. If Trace doesn't like it, she doesn't have to stop her. Please keep up the good work you are doing.

  19. I love your blog. I've been following it now for about a year when I first discover it. I get this isn't a political blog. I do want to encourage you though to post what you want. I have very strong views on issues that are first and foremost about my worldview and how I view the sanctity of life. It is part of who I am. I have struggled with posting anything controversial on my blog. But because of the time we live in that will probably change.
I LOVE your kitchen by the way. It is the inspiration for our kitchen make-over this spring!
    Blessings,
    Holly

  20. My parents used to have a world map hanging on the wall above their desk, and I forgot all about that until I saw yours. What a great idea. I also love all your jars in the light filled room!
