this week's simple pleasures

* a porch rocker surrounded by potted plant beauty

* coneflowers blooming in the garden

* simple light lunches

* bouquets from my garden

* the most faithful and enthusiastic of companions

* butterflies covering almost every milkweed plant

It's been a good week, this last :( week of June.
I'm looking forward to the weekend, even though
there is much weeding to be done, which I actually find relaxing
and a very good time to think.
And...I'm all happy about a new tool I'm getting
tonight--the WORX WG165 10-Inch 24-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger with 1 Battery --I'm hoping it will be just the thing to keep all my new raised beds looking
nice and neat.  We decided to go with grass pathways,
and they are in serious need of some neatening-up!

This is all thanks to our winning the church raffle {quite exciting as I never win anything!}--the proceeds of which are being put to very practical good use to buy some things we really need.
Hope you've had a great week,
Deb

  2. Love all the photos... I too have some similar thoughts on life's simple pleasures.
    Love the butterflies... I don't know if we have milk weed...we must somewhere. We've had pretty butterflies (Monarchs even) most of the summer!
    Congrats on your winning the trimmer. I'm trying to convince The Honey, that our front yards just needs to be raised beds with mulched pathways...nothing seems to grow there anyway. Makes sense rather than trying to get grass to grow.

    Hope your last weekend in June is pleasant. :)
