After a week long staycation, I'm playing catch up around the house and gardens.  It's been hot and humid, and the weeds have taken over while my back was turned.  In the garden, I've been tying up tomatoes, picking blueberries, lettuce, raspberries, and a few strawberries.  The broccoli harvest was horribly pathetic; no nice large heads, just scraggly bits and some worminess as well--not sure if the frequent rains are the cause.  The flowers on the other hand, are loving the rain and putting on a wonderful show--roses, bee balm, lavender, hollyhocks, begonias, petunias, daylilies, and more...all in bloom.
I picked some lambs ears the other day and have laid it out to dry...my hope is to make a wreath with it, though I've never tried this before...will see how it goes :)

  1. Pretty photos. I never thought of drying lamb's ear. I love those plants but they're hard to find around here. Can't wait to see your wreath.

  4. The weeds never end do they? I'm mulching with newspaper and grass clippings this year. I hope you will show us your wreath... I am planning to dry some artemisia and to see how that works.
