February days
During the week we enjoyed some sunshiney days which motivated me to get out the camera.
I'm trying hard to get organized, pare down, and get some spring cleaning done, but don't feel like I'm making much progress. I keep plugging away, a little bit at a time.
In my workroom I've been sewing some more yarn sacks which might make it to the shop later next week.
Today we've gotten about 8 to 12 inches of snow and it's still coming down--this should make a great weekend for some cross country skiing.
I hope to turn my bowl of lemons into some of this lemon cake, and then sit by the fire and enjoy it with a cup of tea.

I'm so glad you're thinking good thoughts about the snow! So many dread it!
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen! It's just beautiful! Is that large crock with lid your garbage? That is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katy!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, inside the crock is a tall kitchen wastebasket—Mike made the lid for me out of plywood. I added a wooden ball for a knob, and painted it….Deb
I like your pictures! The tall crock turned trash can is so cool! I've been doing the same thing...plugging away at "spring cleaning"...cleaning, organizing, ridding. I'm not making as much progress as I'd like either but it's coming along. Sitting by the fire and eating lemon cake and having tea while it snows outside sounds wonderful! Enjoy! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see photographs of your home. There is always many new things to see on shelves, counters, that remind me of old days gone by. Even the view of the snow through your window, enjoy cross country skiing.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures of your kitchen. The bowl of lemons and the teapot photo...so pretty and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are being productive inside while the weather is cold outside. You have such a simple uncomplicated blog. I love coming here and seeing your home and all that you do!
I must say--about the hidden garbage...BRILLIANT!
I've been wanting to find a way to hide the trash in my kitchen. But I've not found anything suitable yet...all because of the missing lid aspect! I also have a pail in the bathroom to hold tissue ...with no lid.
I'm filing this plywood idea away and plan on using it the first chance I get!
...have a nice weekend.
Pat
Sweet, cozy views of your kitchen in February! Love your blue enamel coffee pot and your crock waste bin. Lemon cake sounds so good, thanks for sharing! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your photo's...lemon cake by the fire sounds like a good way to end the day :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect day to stay in and get some sewing done. Then venture out and hit the ski trails. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Hello there, Your blog is great. I kinda picked yours at random. I have only been blogging for a month or two, I am wondering how long it takes to start getting followers? I have things set up right I believe. There are so many blogs out there better than mine though. Just looking for advice from another blogger. Thanks
